Our History
Founder Bryce Broughton started building timber frames when he was 14, helping his dad who built and sold post and beam homes beginning in the early 1980’s. When the family moved out west in 1994 Bryce took over the timber framing business and started Teton Timberframe.
Bryce was a gifted business man and creative entrepreneur. He had an eye for perfection, as well as a good consciousness for the environment which led him in the direction of crafting frames out of recycled materials. Despite the expense of using recycled and reclaimed timbers, he made it work for the business and his clients. His best wish would be that more customers would go the extra step to build environmentally conscious and energy efficient homes. The extra expense up front will pay off in the long pull. Present owner Adam Riley will attest to that as he continues the age old tradition of timber framing with the additional touch of natural, locally produced materials. Although Bryce, who died in 2007, is sorely missed, we know he’s with the business in spirit.
Today our focus is on building timber frame homes with natural wall systems. Our diverse interests include public and commercial buildings; Timber Frame Guild projects; craftsman-style cabinets and millwork and anything else our clients and crew can dream up.
