Our Crew

We are a team of designers, engineers, craftsmen and outdoor enthusiasts.  We care about our community, our clients and the ecology of our region.  When we’re not drawing, cutting or raising a frame, you can find us fishing, hiking, skiing and riding in the Teton backcountry.

Adam Riley - Owner, Climber & Skier

Adam Riley

Adam was born and raised in New Hampshire, spent some formative years in Maine and four years at the University of Vermont. He graduated in 1994 with a degree in civil engineering and moved to western Wyoming for the climbing, skiing and opportunity to build beautiful homes. He worked for four years as a surveyor and log home builder in Jackson Hole but knew there was a better way to build. In 1998 he went back to New Hampshire to work for Benson Woodworking and found his passion for timber framing.

From 2001 to 2005 Adam was a general contractor back in Jackson, WY. He specialized in building durable, energy-efficient timber frame and panel homes. In 2004 he participated in his first EcoNest workshop and found the building system he had been looking for along with a great group of like-minded designers and builders.

Adam now owns and operates Teton Timberframe in Driggs, ID. He is thrilled to work with such a talented and fun-loving team of designers and builders. When he's not in the shop or raising frames, Adam can be found hiking and skiing in the Teton backcountry with his wife Christina and their three big dogs.

Mike Cyr - Timber Framer & Recreationalist

Mike moved to Teton Valley in 1990 to pursue a life of skiing, biking, fishing, hunting and travel. In the years since he found a wonderful wife, Deb, a beautiful son, Nathan, and a fulfilling career as a timber framer.

In Mike's early days here work was hard to come by, but powder days were a dime a dozen. To survive financially, he tended bar in the winter at the ski resort and in the summer felt lucky if he had 3 or 4 months of work as a carpenter’s helper. By his second summer he had been introduced to timber framing through a Tedd Benson book he was given as a gift, and he has been passionate about it ever since. With no timber frame job opportunities in the area at the time, Mike taught himself some basics by building a sauna and small cabin. Eventually Teton Timberframe emerged and now Mike gets to do the work he loves in the place he loves.

Mason Cassidy - Timber Framer, Alpinist & Fisherman

Mason

Originally from Portland ME, Mason felt a strong desire to travel west and to live and play in the Rocky Mountains. While attending the University of Denver, Mason was able to explore these high places and earn a degree in construction management.

Next stop… the fabled Jackson Hole. During his time in the area, Mason developed a powerful relationship with the beauty of the Tetons and surrounding valleys and rivers. He has also gained a wealth of experience working in the construction industry as a carpenter, contractor and job supervisor.

Al Klagge - Designer, Fisherman & Winemaker

After 30 years in the rafting trade in Jackson Hole with off seasons spent improving his carpentry, Al and his wife, Linda, moved to Felt, ID to build a home. This was not just any home but a fine timber frame from reclaimed fir timbers. Al cut his timber framing teeth on his own house… not too brilliant, but it made Teton Home Magazine. 10 years and several other homes later, there is still some trim to finish in theirs.

Meeting Adam at Teton Timberframe and taking too many "over-50 vitamins" led to a career transition from framing and cabinet work into fine home design. It was a great move. When he’s not drafting at his computer, he can be found playing jazz gigs on Friday nights, fishing and making bread. Saturdays and Sundays are for wine, wife and song.

Pete Brannen - Timber Framer, Father & Recreationalist

Pete made his move west from Geneva, IL to attend Colorado State University where he studied Natural Resource Management. Upon graduation, he found himself heading to Jackson Hole to work for a local land trust and spend as much time in the outdoors as possible. It was in Jackson where he met his future wife and began a career of many careers. After several years in Jackson Pete settled with his wife in Victor, ID. It was here that he built a home, started a family, and happily found a passion building Timber Frame homes and embracing sustainable building techniques.
